Where Colombia Wins
Body contouring and BBL
This isn't even close. Colombian surgeons developed modern BBL techniques, and the country has decades of institutional expertise in gluteal fat grafting, liposuction, tummy tucks, and combination body procedures like the mommy makeover. If your procedure involves body contouring, Colombia is the clear choice.
Proximity for North American patients
A 5-hour direct flight from New York, 4 hours from Miami, 3 hours from Houston. Compare that to 10+ hours to Istanbul. When you're recovering from surgery and flying with compression garments, shorter is better. Colombia's position in the same time zones as the US also makes pre-op virtual consultations and post-op follow-up calls easier to schedule.
Recovery environment
Medellín's year-round 72°F climate is ideal for post-surgical recovery. No seasonal planning required. Turkey's climate is excellent in spring and fall, but Istanbul summers are hot and humid (challenging in compression garments) and winters are cold.
