The Case for Combining
One of the biggest financial advantages of cosmetic surgery abroad is the ability to combine multiple procedures in a single trip. Instead of two separate surgeries (each with its own anesthesia fee, facility fee, and recovery period), you do everything at once. The savings compound: one flight instead of two, one recovery period, one set of time off work.
Safe Combinations
Not everything can or should be combined. The limiting factors are total operating time and physiological stress. Here are established safe combinations and their typical Colombia pricing:
Mommy makeover (tummy tuck + breast lift/aug + lipo): $5,500–$9,000. The classic combination. 4–6 hours operating time. 14–21 day recovery.
BBL + breast augmentation: $5,000–$8,500. Very common in Colombia. 3–5 hours. 14–21 day recovery.
Facelift + blepharoplasty + neck lift: $5,500–$9,000. Comprehensive facial rejuvenation. 4–6 hours. 14–21 day recovery.
Rhinoplasty + chin implant: $3,500–$6,000. Facial balance enhancement. 2–3 hours. 10–14 day recovery.
Tummy tuck + liposuction (multiple areas): $4,000–$7,000. Body contouring focus. 3–5 hours. 14–21 day recovery.
What Not to Combine
Any combination exceeding 6–8 hours of operating time increases anesthesia risk disproportionately. Procedures that require conflicting recovery positions (BBL requires avoiding sitting; some procedures require sitting) need careful staging. Two-stage procedures—where the first surgery heals before the second—can sometimes be done within a single 3–4 week trip if planned properly.
