Why Facelift Destination Choice Matters

Turkey's facelift market is strong but more commonly focused on SMAS technique with package-model delivery. Thailand offers excellent facelift surgery at Bangkok's top hospitals but involves significant travel for Western patients.
Recovery Is the Deciding Factor
Facelifts require 2–3 weeks of recovery with visible bruising and swelling. This is where destination environment becomes critical. Medellín's year-round temperate climate, walkable neighborhoods, and recovery houses with nursing support make the extended recovery period comfortable rather than isolating. The mild weather also means no extreme heat or cold affecting healing skin.
Facelift patients should plan to stay 14–21 days before flying home, with at least two surgeon follow-ups during that period.
